In a world where speed and agility often take center stage, there’s a hidden arena where the true power of the human mind comes to life—the Asia Open Memory Sports Championship 2023 to be held on Oct 28-29, 2023. Organized by The Brain Republic, this year’s championship promises to be a thrilling showcase of mental prowess and memory wizardry like never before. Set against the backdrop of the esteemed De La Salle University – Manila, Philippines, Event Partner and Venue Host, this mind sports championship is poised to make history. It is the first time the Asia Open Mind Sports event will be held in the Philippines.

ASIA AND BEYOND. This is also an Official-Ranked event sanctioned by the Philippine Mind Sports Association, Asia Memory Sports Alliance, and the Global Alliance of Memory Athletics. A total of 82 Memory Athletes are anticipated to participate, including World Record Holders, Top Ranked Players globally, several International Memory Champions, and Grandmasters from 7 participating countries including Indonesia, Mongolia, Philippines, Japan, China, Algeria, and Australia.

Anne Bernadette “AB” Bonita, President of the Philippine Mind Sports Association, and Owner and Founder of The Brain Republic shares the group’s advocacy to promote mind empowerment through Memory Sports. Being a former Memory Athlete and after successfully organizing 7 International Championships in the past years, she felt that the Philippines is now ready to host an event of this magnitude, and with DLSU’s full support, it is now becoming a reality.

Breaking the Limits of Human Memory

The Asia Open Memory Sports Championship isn’t your typical sports event. Here, participants don’t sprint or tackle; they challenge their brains to break records and push the limits of human memory. From memorizing Words, Names, Images, Binary Digits, and Decks of Cards to recalling long strings of numbers called Marathon Numbers, they display a level of cognitive skill that leaves spectators in awe.

Diverse Participants: From 8 to 70 Years Old

One of the most remarkable aspects of this championship is the diversity of its participants. Ranging from the youngest player at just 8 years old to the eldest player at the ripe age of 70, the championship bridges generations and showcases that memory has no age restrictions.

Students, Employees, Entrepreneurs, and More

The roster of participants is as diverse as it gets. From students who are just beginning their journey into the world of memory techniques to seasoned professionals, entrepreneurs, and even a senior citizen, this championship brings together individuals from all walks of life. It’s a testament to the universal appeal of memory sports and the idea that anyone, regardless of their background, can become a memory master.

Fostering Cross-Generational Connections

As the youngest and oldest participants converge at De La Salle University, they’re not just competing; they’re building connections that transcend age and experience. The championship is more than a contest; it’s a celebration of the human potential to learn, adapt, and grow, regardless of where you are in life’s journey.
